Step 1
Join your AP class using the join code provided by your teacher. This will need to be completed for every AP class in which you are enrolled.
Step 2
For any class in which you are planning to test, students will need to log in to their "my AP Classroom" (through their College Board account) and click on the blue "Register for Exam" button. Once you have done this, you will see "Registered for Exam" as well as the date and time of that exam. If you do NOT wish to test, students should choose the option on the right, "No, I wish to remove myself from taking this assessment."
Step 3 PAYMENT
AP exams: $105
AP Capstone (Seminar and Research): $155
Free/Reduced lunch student AP exam: $20 (Check/Cash)
Free/Reduced lunch student AP Capstone exam: $25 (Check/Cash)
Please click on the following link to pay for your AP test (using the RCS online payment system): PAY HERE
If you are unable to pay through the online payment website due to an extenuating circumstance, please contact your counselor.
*If proof of payment is not received by October 29, 2024, you will not have an exam ordered for you.
Step 4
Please print your online receipt and bring it to your home school's counseling office. This is the preferred method of confirmation. YOU MUST WRITE THE NAME(S) OF THE EXAM(S) YOU PAID FOR ON THE RECEIPT. You can also email your receipt, including which exams you ordered noted in the email, to Mrs. Weimer, the counseling secretary.
SECOND SEMESTER AP CLASSES:
If you are taking a semester 2 only AP class (AP Micro, AP Macro, AP Human Geography), there will be a second registration/payment window after the new year for you to pay for semester 2 AP exams only. We are not accepting payment for semester 2 tests at this time. The January payment windown will only be open to second semester classes.
As a general policy, there are no refunds for AP exams. Students that sign up for an AP exam have made a commitment to properly prepare for the test. Therefore, feeling unprepared will not be considered as a reason for the refund. If an unexpected circumstance were to arise, please see your counselor. This policy may be revisited should there be a change to the College Board's AP testing administration policy.

yearbook photos - prestige
All seniors for the class of 2025 must get their YEARBOOK PHOTO taken by Prestige Portraits. This procedure is not only equitable for ALL students, it streamlines the process for parents, students, and the yearbook advisor. This service is free of charge to every single student. In addition, ALL students in the class of 2025 will be included on the class composite as a result of using Prestige.
If your child did not get their photo taken at Stoney Creek in August, they will need to be photographed on September 13th in the Stoney Creek auditorium. Click here to schedule an appointment https://schedule.prestigeportraits.com/schedule/home.html?MI&Rochester%20Hills
If your child is not photographed on September 13th you will need to arrange a time to go to the Shelby Township or Ferndale studio to have your child photographed no later than October 19, 2024. You can schedule online by going to https://local.prestigeportraits.com/. Please make that appointment sooner than later as most schools in our area have
similar deadlines and studio appointment times may be limited. Any student not photographed by October 19, 2024,
will not be included in the senior section of the yearbook.
Once the photos are processed, students/parents will need to choose their preferred photo by October 26, 2024. You
will receive instructions on how to do this once your child is photographed. Prestige will then send the digital file to
Stoney Creek High School for inclusion in the yearbook and class composite. There is nothing else that the student (or
parent) needs to do to appear in the yearbook or on the class composite. If no photo is chosen, the studio will select one and that photo will appear in the yearbook, on the class composite, and on the slide deck for honors convocation and graduation.
Please remember that this is a formal section of the yearbook. Students should be in a shirt and tie, collared shirt, dress, sweater, or blouse. All clothing needs to meet these specifications and the RCS dress code policy. If you need help obtaining proper attire, or you need more information regarding attire, please contact Mrs. Millard.
Students and parents will still have the opportunity to go to their preferred choice of photographer, if it is not Prestige
Portraits, for their other senior photos. While only the yearbook pose sitting fee is FREE OF CHARGE, Prestige will also be offering significant discounts for other senior picture packages as well. You will receive marketing materials with those discounts from them in the coming weeks.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Millard.

rcs cyber security update
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our cybersecurity measures, and to safeguard your student’s sensitive information, we are initiating a new protocol for how we will manage student passwords.
Why is this necessary?
Regular password updates are essential to mitigate the risk of unauthorized access and to protect sensitive data. By changing passwords periodically, we strengthen our defenses against cyber threats and ensure the safety of our students' personal information. These practices align with several professional organizations including the US Government Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (www.CISA.gov).
How will this be implemented?
There will be two phases for this plan based on students’ grade levels. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will have a new password assigned to them on August 7, 2024. The passwords will be randomly generated consisting of age-appropriate dictionary words. These new passwords will still be accessible in Synergy (TeacherVUE, ParentVUE, and StudentVUE), so you will still be able to look up your student’s login information.
Students in 6th through 12th grade will be required to change their passwords during the fall. A date will be determined in collaboration with the leadership teams at our secondary buildings. Please note that secondary students in Rochester Community Schools will still be able to create their own passwords. The new process this fall will involve changing students’ default passwords to something that has a higher cybersecurity standard and forcing password changes at a determined interval.
What do you need to do?
Please talk with your students to inform them about these upcoming changes and consider reviewing the provided resources below to help you and your family navigate ParentVUE and StudentVUE. Teachers and staff will all be informed of these changes and will be available to support students throughout this transition at the start of the school year.
Available Resources:
The Technology Services Department has created a series of resources that will assist in this process. If you have a question or need support, please do not hesitate to reach out.
• We’ve included a Step-by-Step Guide to view student’s login and password in ParentVUE (Attached)
• Video tutorials are available to navigate ParentVUE and StudentVUE, both of which include directions on how to find your student’s district login and password.
• Connect directly with a Technology Services team member: [email protected] or (248) 726-3099.

• Connect directly with a Technology Services team member: [email protected] or (248) 726-3099.
work permits
Students can obtain a work permit in the counseling office as well as in the vestibule outside of the main office. Make sure to choose the appropriate form (there is a form for UNDER 16 and a separate form for 16 & 17 year olds).
Complete Section I, have your employer complete Section II, then bring back to SCHS to be completed (if a parent is bringing the form for their student, we will need a photo ID of the student in order to complete the work permit). Work permits are completed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

my school bucks
Rochester Community School operates its meal program using Point of Sale Computers (POS). Our computers are capable of tracking all pre-paid lunch sales. In addition, you may view a detailed account of what meals or snack your child has purchased and your account balance by creating an account on https://www.myschoolbucks.com . This is a free service for the convenience of our parents. If you child receives free or reduced price meals, rest assured they will not be identified in front of others.
If your student qualifies for free/reduced lunch, students are required to enroll yearly. You can apply by clicking here.
