counseling
JUNIORS
The counselors visited the junior class during their Social Studies classes today to go over important information for junior year. They were given information on how to sign up for College visits here at Stoney Creek, the College and Career Fair on October 17th at SCHS, upcoming PSAT/NMSQT required testing on October 18th, PSAT/SAT prep resources, MME testing, and much more. We encourage all juniors and their parents to visit our Junior Student & Parent Checklist smore for all of the information.
SENIORS
The counselors met with the senior class on Wednesday of this week to discuss post-secondary planning. They were also given one-on-one appointment times to meet with their counselor and go over any questions they may have. Parents/students, we strongly encourage you to check out our College Application Process smore and make a list of questions you want your student to bring to their meeting with their counselor.
FINANCIAL AID
It's almost time for seniors to fill out the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)" starting on October 1, 2023. Check out a newsletter devoted specifically to Financial Aid.
Oakland University provides excellent virtual presentations to help senior families understand the FAFSA process.
FAFSA Small Group Workshops are available to allow multiple students and their parents (when applicable) to get help completing the FAFSA; private breakout rooms are utilized if you have a personal question or need to share your screen privately.

senior photos class of 2024
All seniors must get their YEARBOOK PHOTO taken through Prestige Portraits. This service is free of charge to every single student. This procedure is not only equitable for ALL students, it streamlines the process for parents, students, and the yearbook advisor. In addition, ALL students in the class of 2024 will be included on the class composite as a result of using Prestige.
The yearbook and composite photos were taken August 16-18. If your senior missed their appointment, you can schedule an appointment at one of Prestige’s studios by visiting www.prestigeportraits.com/studio or calling 517-349-1703 to set up an appointment. The closest studio to Rochester is the Shelby Township studio. The deadline to be photographed outside of our scheduled on-site dates is October 14, 2023. Due to yearbook printing deadlines, any student that does not meet that deadline will not be included in the senior section of the yearbook.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Millard at [email protected].
