senior photos class of 2024
All seniors must get their YEARBOOK PHOTO taken through Prestige Portraits. This service is free of charge to every single student. This procedure is not only equitable for ALL students, it streamlines the process for parents, students, and the yearbook advisor. In addition, ALL students in the class of 2024 will be included on the class composite as a result of using Prestige.
There is a NEW PROCESS this year for senior pictures. All yearbook and composite photos will be taken August 16-18 at North Hill Elementary School (due to summer renovations at Stoney Creek). Students will be auto-scheduled for the their appointments on one of those three dates between the hours of 8am and 4pm. Prestige Portraits will soon share the scheduling link with you. Once you receive it, you can search for Stoney Creek High School and then for your student’s name. It will show you which day and time your student is scheduled for. Postcards will also be sent 4-6 weeks prior to the photography dates as well as an email 14 days before with an appointment/QR code which allows you to confirm, reschedule, or cancel the appointment.
During the in-school photography days, students will be photographed in one outfit for the yearbook and composite photo. They will take the formal head and shoulder poses, plus a few additional poses on another background. If you would like your student to be photographed in additional outfits, or if they are unable to make it one of those days, you can schedule an appointment at one of Prestige’s studios by visiting www.prestigeportraits.com/studio or calling 517-349-1703 to set up an appointment. The closest studio to Rochester is the Shelby Township studio. The deadline to be photographed outside of our scheduled on-site dates is October 14, 2023. Due to yearbook printing deadlines, any student that does not meet that deadline will not be included in the senior section of the yearbook.
More information will be forthcoming from Prestige Portraits. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Millard at [email protected].

work permits
We are seeing an influx of students needing work permits as we get closer to summer break. Students can obtain a work permit in the counseling office as well as in the vestibule outside of the main office. Make sure to choose the appropriate form (there is a form for UNDER 16 and a separate form for 16 & 17 year olds).
Complete Section I, have your employer complete Section II, then bring back to SCHS to be completed (if a parent is bringing the form for their student, we will need a photo ID of the student in order to complete the work permit). Work permits are completed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Stoney Creek summer hours for work permits (beginning June 12th):
Monday-Thursday 8:00-3:30.

Attendance
Our students’ attendance matters to us. We want and expect them to be here as much as possible. We value their presence, and their academic success is dependent on it. Organized or coordinated absences from school are not endorsed by Rochester Community Schools, for example “Senior Skip Days”. Students who decide to take part in these events will be responsible for all missed work and assessments that occur on that day. Teachers will be continuing instruction as normal.
Student Pick up after school / Parking
As a reminder at the end of the school day, students must be picked up in the parent loop on the south end of the school off Tieken Road. If the student can not be picked up in the loop, please park in the Junior or senior lots by the auditorium or the pool. Please do not pick students up on the north end of school. The loop is reserved for buses and authorized vehicles with permits only.

donation opportunities
Rochester Community Schools believes that an important foundation for successful teaching and learning includes the need to feel safe, valued, and respected. To that end, Stoney Creek High School will be participating in No Place for Hate®, a national program that supports schools in their commitment to honor diversity, promote respect for differences, challenge bias, and prevent bullying at all levels.
No Place for Hate was developed by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a leading anti-hate organization that has worked for more than a century to “secure justice and fair treatment to all.” No Place for Hate will help RCS incorporate valuable resources into existing programs to have one consistent message of inclusivity.
To learn more about No Place for Hate, or to access family resources on challenging bullying and bias, please go to: https://www.adl.org/education-and-resources/resources-for-educators-parents-families.
If you have questions about No Place for Hate, please contact the Stoney Creek High School administrative team. With your help, we will continue to ensure that our school community is a safe and welcoming space for all.
