Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Rochester Community Schools believes that an important foundation for successful teaching and learning includes the need to feel safe, valued, and respected. To that end, Stoney Creek High School will be participating in No Place for Hate®, a national program that supports schools in their commitment to honor diversity, promote respect for differences, challenge bias, and prevent bullying at all levels.
No Place for Hate was developed by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a leading anti-hate organization that has worked for more than a century to “secure justice and fair treatment to all.” No Place for Hate will help RCS incorporate valuable resources into existing programs to have one consistent message of inclusivity.
To learn more about No Place for Hate, or to access family resources on challenging bullying and bias, please go to: https://www.adl.org/education-and-resources/resources-for-educators-parents-families.
If you have questions about No Place for Hate, please contact the Stoney Creek High School administrative team. With your help, we will continue to ensure that our school community is a safe and welcoming space for all.
Sincerely,
Stoney Creek Administrative Team

homecoming
We’d like to share one final update about Homecoming, which is the week of September 19th!
We will be kicking off our Hollywood Homecoming with a FREE movie night on Monday, September 19th starting at 7:30PM. The movie will be shown on the Hill Amphitheatre (outside of the band/choir rooms on the West side of the building). There will be concessions available for purchase, but students need to bring their own blankets/chairs.
We will be having our annual school spirit competition for the coveted Cougar Cup. Students can earn Cougar Credits for their grade by participating in dress-up days. Here are the spirit days for the week of Homecoming:
Monday, Sept. 19th: Neon Day
Tuesday, Sept. 20th: Celebrity Day
Wednesday, Sept. 21st : Wild West Wednesday
Thursday, Sept. 22nd: Jersey Day
Friday, Sept. 23rd: Class color competition (wear Homecoming shirts or class color)
Another way grades can earn Cougar Credits toward winning the Cougar Cup is to win our locker bank decorating contest. Students are invited to come and help decorate their banks on Friday, September 16th right after school. Students should meet in C262 to get materials and instructions from their Student Council representatives.
Homecoming shirts will be available for purchase starting Friday, September 16th during all three lunches for $15. Students wear their shirts the Friday of Homecoming week on the day of the assembly, but purchasing a shirt is not a requirement. Students who pre-ordered shirts can pick up their shirts in C261 during all three lunches.
The Homecoming dance will be held on Saturday, September 24th at Stoney Creek from 7:00-10:00 in the Main Gym. Tickets for the dance are $25 and are sold during all three lunches. Students will need their student IDs to purchase a ticket, and IDs will be needed to enter the dance. Stoney Creek students are allowed to bring one guest to the dance. For guest information and the application please click here. Guest applications must be submitted prior to purchasing a dance ticket.
The PTSA is still looking for volunteers to help make this Homecoming a success. If you’re available to help with coat check or with donating refreshments please volunteer using the sign-ups below:

Please read the instructions for photo quantity when choosing a size. If possible, submit both photo orientations - horizontal and vertical. senior photos
All seniors for the class of 2023 must get their YEARBOOK PHOTO taken by Prestige Portraits. This procedure is not only equitable for ALL students, it streamlines the process for parents, students, and the yearbook advisor. This service is free of charge to every single student. In addition, ALL students in the class of 2023 will be included on the class composite as a result of using Prestige.
Students must have their yearbook photo taken by November 5, 2022 in studio (see address below). Once the photos are processed, students/parents will have the ability to choose their preferred photo by November 24, 2022 and then Prestige will send the digital file to Stoney Creek High School for inclusion in the yearbook and on class composite. There is nothing else that the student (or parent) needs to do to appear in the yearbook or on the class composite.
Please remember that this is a formal section of the yearbook. Students should be in a shirt and tie, dress, sweater, or blouse. All clothing needs to meet these specifications and the RCS dress code policy. If you need help obtaining proper attire, or you need more information regarding attire, please contact Mrs. Millard.
Students and parents will still have the opportunity to go to their preferred choice of photographer, if it is not Prestige Portraits, for their other senior photos. While only the yearbook pose sitting fee is FREE OF CHARGE, Prestige will also be offering significant discounts for other senior picture packages as well.
Please go online at http://www.prestigeportraits.com/studio to make your child’s senior portrait appointment as soon as possible (if a “yearbook only - free” choice is not available during online scheduling, choose the “basic session”– the fee will be waived once you are at the studio). You may also call to make the appointment (see phone number below).
The deadline to be photographed in order to appear in the yearbook is November 5, 2022. Students who do not get their yearbook photo taken with Prestige by the deadline will not appear in the senior section of the yearbook.

The safety and security of all students and staff at Stoney Creek is always a top priority. To help us in these efforts, please see the information below:
- Students can enter through 2 entrances: the Main Doors and the Athletics Doors.
- Campus will remain closed throughout the school day. All grades will have lunch on campus.
- Students are NOT to utilize fast food delivery services. For example, DoorDash, Grub Hub, Instacart, or Uber Eats, etc. for food delivery.
- If students are traveling to other campuses throughout the day, they are asked to check out of SCHS in the Attendance Office and check back in when they return.
- Students are encouraged to utilize their assigned lockers to minimize their belongings in the classroom.
If you see something, say something. Please report all safety and security concerns to the Main Office Staff or to Officer Drehmer.
my school bucks
