The Stoney Creek Work Based Learning Careers class is a unique course designed to develop our student's with special needs employability and independent living skills to prepare them for adult life. Some of our students are on track to continue at the Adult Transition Program and some will transition into trade school programs like Michigan Career Technological Institute through Michigan Rehabilitative Services. In contrast, others will be ready to begin employment after graduating High School or attend further education/training.
Each student in this class has an IEP or Independent Education Plan working on their individualized transition goals to prepare for life after graduation. Students engage in mini-lessons focused on resume building, applying for jobs, and interviewing. We also have work-based learning opportunities for students to learn how to function in a work environment with appropriate work behaviors while meeting set work expectations during their assigned jobs. One of our work based learning opportunities is Bread by the Creek where students make sour dough bread to sell to staff in the building.
Our students also participate in the PAES Lab (Practical Assessment Exploration System). This is a lab that offers students the opportunity to explore their interests while also discovering their natural aptitude and strengths with 270 tasks. These 270 tasks are in the areas of Construction, Processing Production, Computers, Consumer Services, and Business. The data gathered from the tasks in the Lab guides and supports our students' transition planning and goals.
Rochester is fortunate to have such programs and opportunities for our students and I am grateful to have the continued support of my administration and Special Education Department team. EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANS
School counselors met with all students to develop and update their personal Educational Development Plans (EDPs). During these sessions, students participated in grade-level presentations and completed activities in XELLO, our post-secondary and career-planning platform. These lessons are designed to help students explore career interests, set academic goals, and prepare for life after high school.

Tickets to all athletic events will now be purchased electronically through GoFan.
Anyone attending an athletic event needs to buy their tickets on GoFan. Ticket packages are available on the site.
ATHLETIC REMINDERS:
- Please purchase your tickets early on GoFan. This is the only way for you to pay for your ticket into the game. We do not accept cash.
- If you have a middle schooler or elementary schooler that would like to attend the game, they must be accompanied by a parent.
- You can not enter the stadium with any kind of container (i.e. water bottles, Yeti cups, disposable coffee cups, etc.). You will be asked to throw it away before entering the stadium.
- Bags will not be permitted into the stadium. The exception would be diaper bags or medical bags.
- There is no re-entry into the stadium. If you leave at any point during the game to go to the parking lot, you will not be allowed to return.

Any students who will be parking at SCHS must have a parking pass. If you attend OSTC, you can purchase the OSTC parking pass and use it at Stoney Creek as well.

work permits
Students can obtain a work permit in the counseling office as well as in the vestibule outside of the main office. Make sure to choose the appropriate form (there is a form for UNDER 16 and a separate form for 16 & 17 year olds).

We are excited to be able to offer free breakfast and lunch again this school year to all RCS students on school days.

pickup/drop off procedure
As a reminder, at the end of the school day students must be picked up in the parent loop on the south end of the school off Tienken Road. Make sure to pull all of the way up to keep traffic moving. If the student can not be picked up in the loop, please park in a parking spot in the lots by the auditorium or the pool. Please do not pick students up on the north end of school. The loop is reserved for busses and authorized vehicles with permits only.

The safety and security of all students and staff at Stoney Creek is always a top priority. To help us in these efforts, please see the information below:

- Students can enter through 3 entrances: the Main Doors, the Athletics Doors, and the Auditorium Doors.
- Campus will remain closed throughout the school day. All grades will have lunch on campus.
- Students are NOT to utilize fast food delivery services. For example, DoorDash, Grub Hub, Instacart, or Uber Eats, etc. for food delivery.
- If students are traveling to other campuses throughout the day, they are asked to check out of SCHS in the Attendance Office and check back in when they return.
- Students are encouraged to utilize their assigned lockers to minimize their belongings in the classroom.
