  4. Ticket sales and entry will close at the start of the 4th quarter (or midway through the second half for applicable sports).

Spirit Week- Cougar Cup
Who will win the Cougar Cup?! The Cougar Cup is our prize awarded to the grade that wins spirit week. Throughout the week students can earn spirit points, or “Cougar Credits” for their grade by participating in a variety of Homecoming events such as spirit days, a hall decorating competition, and assembly games! Students must be in their 1st hour classes to get counted for their grade (AM OSTEC students see Ms. Antrup in C262).

parent/teacher conferences

We are pleased to announce that parent-teacher conferences will be conducted in-person and virtually. Parents will have the ability to preschedule conferences in ParentVUE, rather than waiting in line to see a teacher.
 
The fall parent-teacher conferences are scheduled as follows:
•   High School – In-Person October 9 (3:00pm-6:00pm) & Virtually October 15 (5:00-8:00pm)
•   Middle School – In-person October 8 (3:00-6:00pm) & Virtually October 16 (5:00-8:00pm)
 
Please click here to visit our website for instructions on scheduling your conferences. We are asking parents who are planning to attend conferences to schedule five-minute time slots with the teachers with whom they would like to speak. If a parent or guardian does not have any concerns or questions for their child’s teacher, they do not need to feel obligated to schedule appointments during that time.
 
Families will have the ability to schedule meetings beginning on October 1st up until the evening of conferences. If parents are planning to see multiple teachers, we recommend leaving 5-10 minutes between scheduled appointments to join the next meeting.
 
In order to schedule appointments, it is important for parents to be able to successfully login to ParentVUE. You may use either the ParentVUE mobile app or visit https://rcsvue.rochester.k12.mi.us

school meals update!

Starting October 6, RCS will transition from offering free meals to a paid meal program for K-12 students, with the exception of free and reduced price meal program. 
For families needing assistance, you can apply to the free and reduced price meal program. This program not only provides free or affordable meals, it also aids with club and activity fees, AP testing fees, etc. Please make sure you fill out the consent to share form when applying to ensure the school can be notified of additional support you may need.

- Send cash or check (made out to RCS) in an envelope and provide to cafeteria staff

​Homecoming dance help needed!
The PTSA is looking for parent volunteers for the dance! This is a great way to share in the excitement of Homecoming along with your student. Parents can volunteer to serve refreshments or work our coat check during the dance. There is also a need for refreshment donations. Please see the sign-ups below to help this be a great night for all of our students!

mde accepting public comment on the proposed michigan health education standards framework

Michigan is updating health education standards for public schools for the first time since 2007. Following a presentation September 9th State Board of Education meeting, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is accepting public comments on the proposed Michigan Health Education Standards Framework.
 
Teachers, school administrators, higher education faculty, parents, students, health educators, community health professionals and other interested parties are encouraged to share their feedback. Public comment will be accepted on the MDE Health and Safety webpage through Oct. 10. Staff will review public comment and will then recommend health education standards to the board at a future meeting.

​AP Test Registration dates: September 8th - October 27, 2025

Step 1: Join your AP class using the join code provided by your teacher. This will need to be completed for every AP class in which you are enrolled.

Step 2: For any class in which you are planning to test, students will need to log in to their “my AP Classroom” (through their College Board account) and click on the blue “Register for Exam” button. Once you have done this, you will see “Registered for Exam” as well as the date and time of that exam. If you do NOT wish to test, students should choose the option on the right, “No, I wish to remove myself from taking this assessment.”

Step 3: Payment:
AP exams: $105
Free/ Reduced Lunch Student: $20 (Check/Cash)
Please click on the following link to pay for your AP test (using the RCS Online Payment System): https://rochesteronline.ce.eleyo.com. If you are unable to pay through the online payment website due to an extenuating circumstance, please contact your counselor.
*If proof of payment is not received by October 28, 2025, you will not have an exam ordered for you.

Step 4: Print your receipt and bring it to your home school’s counseling office. This is the preferred method of confirmation. YOU MUST WRITE THE NAME(S) OF THE EXAM(S) YOU PAID FOR ON THE RECEIPT. You can also email your receipt, including which exams you ordered noted on the receipt, to the email address listed with your home high school:

Second semester AP Classes
If you are taking a semester 2 only AP class (AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, or AP Human Geography), there will be a second payment window after the new year for you to pay for these tests only. We are not accepting payment for semester 2 tests at this time. The January payment window will only be open to second semester classes.

As a general policy, there are no refunds for AP exams. Students that sign up for an AP exam have made a commitment to properly prepare for the test. Therefore, feeling unprepared will not be considered as a reason for a refund. If an unexpected circumstance were to arise, please see your counselor. This policy may be revisited should there be a change to the College Board’s AP testing administration policy.
On Thursday, October 30th we will be hosting our annual Link Crew Trunk of Treat event during all 3 lunches for the entire freshman class.
We are looking for donations of candy(peanut free), treat bags or money donations to help support our event.

​  Tickets to all athletic events will now be purchased electronically through GoFan.
Anyone attending an athletic event needs to buy their tickets on GoFan. Ticket packages are available on the site.
ATHLETIC REMINDERS:
  • Please purchase your tickets early on ​GoFan. This is the only way for you to pay for your ticket into the game. We do not accept cash.
  • If you have a middle schooler or elementary schooler that would like to attend the game, they must be accompanied by a parent.
  • You can not enter the stadium with any kind of container (i.e. water bottles, Yeti cups, disposable coffee cups, etc.). You will be asked to throw it away before entering the stadium.
  • Bags will not be permitted into the stadium. The exception would be diaper bags or medical bags.
  • There is no re-entry into the stadium. If you leave at any point during the game to go to the parking lot, you will not be allowed to return.

Any students who will be parking at SCHS must have a parking pass. If you attend OSTC, you can purchase the OSTC parking pass and use it at Stoney Creek as well.

work permits

Students can obtain a work permit in the counseling office as well as in the vestibule outside of the main office. Make sure to choose the appropriate form (there is a form for UNDER 16 and a separate form for 16 & 17 year olds).
Complete Section I, have your employer complete Section II, then bring back to SCHS to be completed  (if a parent is bringing the form for their student, we will need a photo ID of the student in order to complete the work permit). Work permits are completed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

my school bucks

Rochester Community School operates its meal program using Point of Sale Computers (POS). Our computers are capable of tracking all pre-paid lunch sales. In addition, you may view a detailed account of what meals or snack your child has purchased and your account balance by creating an account on https://www.myschoolbucks.com . This is a free service for the convenience of our parents. If you child receives free or reduced price meals, rest assured they will not be identified in front of others.
If your student qualifies for free/reduced lunch, students are required to enroll yearly. You can apply by clicking here.

pickup/drop off procedure

As a reminder, at the end of the school day students must be picked up in the parent loop on the south end of the school off Tienken Road.  Make sure to pull all of the way up to keep traffic moving. If the student can not be picked up in the loop, please park in a parking spot in the lots by the auditorium or the pool.  Please do not pick students up on the north end of school.  The loop is reserved for busses and authorized vehicles with permits only.  

SAFETY AND SECURITY

SAFETY AND SECURITY IS A TOP PRIORITY!
 
The safety and security of all students and staff at Stoney Creek is always a top priority. To help us in these efforts, please see the information below:
  • Students can enter through 3 entrances: the Main Doors, the Athletics Doors, and the Auditorium Doors.
  • Campus will remain closed throughout the school day. All grades will have lunch on campus.  
  • Students are NOT to utilize fast food delivery services. For example, DoorDash, Grub Hub, Instacart, or Uber Eats, etc. for food delivery.
  • If students are traveling to other campuses throughout the day, they are asked to check out of SCHS in the Attendance Office and check back in when they return.
  • Students are encouraged to utilize their assigned lockers to minimize their belongings in the classroom.
